The customer wanted to give his wife a bathtub tray / caddy that she could relax in front of with a glass of wine.
We went through some wood I had in the shop and decided on this cool chunk of walnut for the top and some really cool figured maple for the handles. I love making meaningful projects with reclaimed scraps of wood.
The handles were doweled and attached with CA glue. I used epoxy resin and mica powder to fill the gaps and cracks to beautiful effect.
It was super simple, very elegant, and she loved it.
