Welcome, my name is Bob Jencks and I own The Rift Song Workshop – a wood and metalworking shop with a focus on artistic acoustic treatments for music studios, home theaters, board rooms, restaurants, and other critical listening environments. I have also been known to fabricate any number of architectural installations such as stairs, rails, commercial and residential counter and bar tops, mantels, doors, and more.

For fun, I design and produce extremely comfortable, durable, and beautiful wooden picks and plectrums for working musicians.

From concept and design through fabrication, delivery, installation and follow up – my goal is to provide the highest quality, interesting, and intentional work within the proposed timeline and budget.

I consider myself fairly well versed in soundproofing, acoustic room treatments, absorbers and diffusers, and truly enjoy making beautiful, functional projects that bring out the highest acoustic and aesthetic potential of any space they inhabit.

As well as the wood and metal shops, I have extensive experience in commercial and residential construction. I understand how my work and timeline affect those around me, and always do my best to meet delivery dates without sacrificed quality.

While I’m at it, I enjoy filming the small moments of artistry that come with working in a shop and putting together short videos for education and entertainments sake. These shorts also allow me to share the production experiences on-line with clients, who seem to enjoy the opportunity.

This site is rather new, and I’d really rather be in the shop so there isn’t a lot here, but do check back for more projects and things I’m working on.
